Zumbani has strong citrus notes and has been used for it’s preventive and regenerative properties by the native people of Southern Africa for millennia. Also called “lemonbush”, it has always been harvested in the wild by villagers who have passed on this knowledge to future generations to maintain the use of this delicious and invigorating beverage. The abundance of red and black clays where it grows are some of the richest nutrient-rich mediums on earth and provide an innumerable number of notes and flavors to Zumbani. Sustainability has always been a major factor in this harvesting tradition.
Our green herbal tea is classified as ‘lippia Javanica by the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Published laboratory research in the U.S. National Library of Medicine shows Zumbani’s properties against many modern afflictions including arthritis, pneumonia, diabetes, respiratory illnesses and many more.* ‘A cup a day keeps the doctor away.’ Hundreds of years ago, southern African natives used Zumbani to save thousands of early European settlers who had seen many of their fellow settlers perish from Malaria and other local diseases.
